So we told you about five must-have items every NEW CrossFitter should have in their gym bag. Well here are five more items you can add to your growing list of CrossFit necessities!
You’ve been working out in your Reebok Nano’s or Inov-8’s and they are great. Now it’s time to add a pair of weightlifting shoes into the mix. These shoes are great for those heavy squats and lifts. It’s all about support and feeling safe when having these on. Reebok CrossFit Lifters are a favorite among many athletes as well as Adidas Adipower and Nike Romaleos. These can be a bit pricy but they are well worth the money! Do some research before throwing money down a pair. Everyone has different opinions and favorites.

Our knees take a killing some days, especially on a heavy, squat day. Knee sleeves can enhance sport performance and muscle recovery while also providing warmth and compression which helps with blood flow and can reduce swelling. Most come in either 5mm or 7mm. Some brands we recommend are: Rehband, ExoSleeve, Workt.
Price Range: $31-$48/singles, $45-$60/pair
A belt is great to wear to keep your lower back and core supported during heavy squats and lifts. They come in different materials such as foam, nylon and leather and also different thicknesses and widths. Rogue, HumanX by Harbinger, Unbroken Designs and Valeo have a variety to choose from for anyone’s budget.
Price Range: $19-$120
Shin Guards are a lifesaver during rope climbs. You will never get a rope burn again! They also come in handy during box jumps, deadlifts, cleans and snatches, protecting your shins from anything that can come in the way. RockTape is a favorite among us and they are made with neoprene, the same material in knee sleeves. RX Smart Gear makes a pair as well that have great reviews and also overlap over your shoe which helps protect your ankles.
Price Range: $45-$60/pair
THE NATURAL GRIP
I’m sure everyone has ripped or torn their hands apart whether doing pull ups, toes-to-bar or any movement where you are hanging on the rig or rings. We’ve tried gloves, tape, grips, etc. but the best product out there is The Natural Grip. They are custom made to fit your hands (based on your ring size), non-bulky, have secure grip and are reusable.
Price Range: $17-$20
